jerry wellens

Jerry has just passed his 23rd anniversary as a duty specialist! He spent more than 10 years working for HM Revenue and Customs as an auditor and audit manager, an excise fraud investigator, a Reviews and Appeals Officer, and a departmental trainer.

Following his time with HMRC, he worked for more than three years as a Senior Consultant with Ernst & Young in London and Liverpool, advising blue-chip companies at Board level on all areas of the duty spectrum.

Since leaving EY, he has spent the last decade continuing to advise companies on excise and customs duty compliance and planning opportunities, also working with foreign governments as diverse as Egypt, China, Azakhstan and India (among others) designing duty compliance structures and delivering staff training.

Jerry has advised and represented a number of UK companies at VAT and Duties Tribunals.
